SUMMER VIBES

1/09/2015

Two posts in two days?! That's a first. From now on I am going to try to post more regularly; every few days instead of every few weeks.

So today was another great day with friends. We walked down to the river and took a lot of photos, although we only had a few minutes. I really do wish we had spent longer there.

Also, just be warned that there are quite a lot of photos, as I am so indecisive.

Sorry, I couldn't seem to find any links for the clothes.

Next week on Wednesday I am going to Japan! I'm so excited for the snow, skiing and amazing shopping! Hopefully I will post again before leaving because I'm not sure if I can blog in Japan.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to comment!

I love you to the moon and back!

ACTIVITIES WITH FRIENDS

1/08/2015

Sunday night was spent rushing around, DIYing presents and messily wrapping them all up.

Early (for me) on Monday morning, 5 of my close friends came over to exchange late Christmas gifts. The day was so fun, with so many different activities to keep us entertained over the few hours. For some reason I always feel so antisocial around my friends at my house, as we are always on electronics and doing almost nothing. Don't get me wrong, I really do enjoy being an antisocial bed-head all day, but I always feel that my friends get bored. Monday was really enjoyable for all of my friends (I hope), so the rest of this post is going to be about all of the fun activities that we organised. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy these activities with friends in the future!

Exchanging presents

Quite a long time ago, my friends and I decided to exchange Christmas gifts. Since Christmas seems so long ago, I forgot to write Christmas cards to go with their presents!

Anyway I think that it would be nice to exchange gifts at any time of the year... just arrange a day with your friends! It would also be a smart idea to arrange a budget, so that people don't go too overboard with the presents. I also made quite a few DIY gifts; some of which I may post about in the future. DIYs make amazing presents because they are really personal gifts that the person receiving them will really appreciate it.

I am so happy with everything that I received. I am not trying to brag in anyway and I am very grateful for everything that my friends gave me.

The three necklaces on the left came in a set. They're so pretty and really handy, as they are different lengths so all of them can be worn at the same time! Matching the "space" theme, the necklace on the right is so gorgeous, along with the earrings. They're also made out of a really good quality material, although I'm not quite sure what it is.

The book and the camera piggy-bank suit me so much. I think my friends have realised my obsession over photography and cameras. The mason jar is something that I will use so much in the future! It will be great for just about anything *cough my Berry and Banana Smoothies cough*.

I am absolutely in love with my Aloe Vera plant, which is in replacement of a cactus. Overall, it also has way more medical uses than a cactus so I will definitely be loving it for a long time. I also received some very dainty socks from a friend. I have been wearing them non-stop because they are just so pretty and comfortable. As you may know from my "Love my Rotto" post, I actually received my sunglasses early, and I love them so much! The candle is Frangipani scented which smells so good! I really wanted another candle as well. My "Eccentric Pop Baby Lips" is such a pretty pink, and this type only arrived in Australia recently. I also received some nail polish, which is such a gorgeous blue... I'm wearing it right now.

Card games

Card games are actually one of my favourite activities to do with friends. On Monday one of my friends showed me this game called Cards Against Humanity. It is a game for laughs and it is actually so funny. We slightly tweaked the game by writing out our own white cards, which added to the humour We also used the app called Black Cards on someones phone, as the cards are customisable and the app is free. If you haven't heard of this game I really do recommend checking it out.

Two of my other favourite card games to play with friends are Popcorn and Spoons (there is another card game that I enjoy but I can't remember the name).

Card games are honestly so simple to set up and so fun! I find myself really getting into the games, whilst having conversations and being distracted by basically nothing, but the competitiveness in the games is usually quite funny to watch.

Cooking

It's really fun to cook something simple with friends. Cake in a cup is one of my all-time favourites, but this time we made some simple Rocky Road. It's honestly so quick and easy to make and delicious! Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:
◊ 1 block dark cooking chocolate
◊ 2 blocks milk cooking chocolate
◊ 1 pack marshmallows
◊ 1 pack Granita biscuits (or any other similar cookies)
◊ 1 pack mini M&Ms
◊ 1/2 pack Snakes
◊ 1/2 cup fine desiccated coconut

It's up to you on how much of each ingredient you put in... I vary the recipe every time!

Method:
1) Line a small baking tray with baking paper.
2) Break up all chocolate blocks and put 1/3 of it in a large microwavable bowl.
3) Microwave for about 30 seconds and stir.
4) Place another 1/3 of the chocolate in the bowl and repeat step 2-3 until all chocolate is melted.
5) Place biscuits in a different bowl. Using a rolling pin, crush biscuits into small chunks.
6) Break Snakes into halves.
7) Add all ingredients into chocolate mixture and stir.
8) Pour mixture into tray and let it set in the fridge for 30 mins.
9) Take Rocky Road out of the fridge and let it rest for a few minutes before cutting.

That's all there is to this Rocky Road recipe! It is so delicious (and pretty unhealthy too)!

Movie

On Monday, my friends and I decided to watch Clueless. Chick-flicks and comedies are always so funny to watch, and they are great when there isn't anything to do with everyone. I also recommend planning a movie ahead of time to prevent the disagreements and the tedious complaints that occur when six people really can't decide on a movie together.

Photography

Throughout the day, my friends and I took quite a few photos, which I found really enjoyable (I'm not sure everyone liked it though). Also, it was great having two good quality cameras; one being my friend's camera and the other was my dad's camera which I alway use. Using a really camera (not just a phone) makes me want to take lots more photos... I really don't know what I'm saying.

Well I didn't really know where this post would go... it ended up quite long, and I really hope you all enjoyed it!
